Anthony Pelliccia joined Siena Athletics as Assistant Athletic Director for Advising in February 2024. A 2017 Siena Graduate, Pelliccia brought experience from across campus to Siena Athletics.
“We are thrilled to welcome Anthony to Athletics to serve as our Assistant Athletic Director for Advising,” said former Siena Senior Associate Athletic Director / Senior Woman Administrator Angie Jabir said upon Pelliccia's appointment. “His transferable skill set coming from admissions, as well as his selfless demeanor, tireless work ethic and thirst to grow in this field made him a great fit to lead our Building Better Saints program. Many of our coaches have already worked with Anthony in some capacity and we believe this will make for a seamless transition into this role."
Pelliccia served in the Siena Admissions Department for six-and-a-half years, serving as an Assistant Director of Admissions from September 2017 – December 2022, and as an Associate Director of Athletics and the department’s Athletic Department Recruiting Coordinator for the past 14 months. Pelliccia worked directly with Siena Athletics to coordinate the admissions process for prospective student athletes and assisted the Siena Athletics Compliance Office in his most recent role.
"I am honored and excited to have the opportunity to continue to serve the Siena community as the Assistant Athletic Director for Advising,” Pelliccia said. “Having the chance to work with and experience the strong teamwork within the athletic department already has taught me so much and I look forward to becoming fully integrated into the athletics team. I am eager to start supporting and working with our student-athletes to ensure they find success in the classroom and continue to develop personally and professionally. I want to thank John D’Argenio and Angie Jabir for giving me a chance to further the College's Mission and continue Building Better Saints!"
As an Assistant Director of Admissions at Siena, Pelliccia assisted with coordinating open houses, planning visits for prospective Siena students, and helping to recruit the three largest freshmen classes in Siena history in 2019, 2020, and 2021. He also gained experience in athletics by serving as an Athletic Department Intern at The College of Saint Rose in the spring of 2020 and from September 2021 – March 2022, where he assisted at home athletic contests and provided coverage of the First and Second Rounds of the NCAA DII Women’s Soccer Regional Tournament. Pelliccia also served as the Social Media Moderator at the 2023 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball First and Second Rounds in Albany.
A native of Hicksville, New York, Pelliccia earned his B.A. in Psychology from Siena in 2017, and received his M.S. in Sports Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State in December 2020.
