Noel Gebauer Headshot 24-25

Noel Gebauer

Award-winning PGA Professional Noel Gebauer was named the sixth Siena Women's Golf Head Coach in program history in August 2024.

“We are thrilled to welcome Noel as the new head coach of the Siena Women's Golf program,” said D’Argenio. “With over 30 years of experience in coaching and player development, Noel brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of success. His leadership at Colonie Town Golf Course, combined with his dedication to player development, aligns perfectly with our vision for the future of Siena Women's Golf. We are confident that Noel will elevate our program and inspire our student-athletes to achieve their highest potential."

Gebauer’s Saints had instant success during his first season in 2024-25. The team captured two tournament victories, with its first place showing at the Crusader Invitational to finish the fall season serving as the program’s first since 2014. His Saints kept momentum into the spring season with a win at the Sacred Heart Spring Break Invitational. The wins came just five outings into his Siena coaching career.

The team also turned in its best showing at the MAAC Championships since 2019 by taking fifth over the 54-hole tournament. He also led the team to a program record for low 54-hole score while at the MAAC Championships, as the team turned in a +56, 920. Gebauer’s freshman standout Julia Kret also turned heads at the conference championships, finishing team-best 10th while shooting the sixth-lowest 54-hole score in program history (+10, 226).

Gebauer’s first season also saw two Saints earn inaugural All-MAAC honors in First Team selection Jillian Barend, and Second Team honoree Mackenzie Whitney. His leadership led to Whitney earning an individual win at the Crusader Invitational, while Barend tied teammate Emely Kintzel for first at the Sacred Heart Spring Break Invitational. Additionally, Whitney turned in the eighth lowest 36-hole score in program history (+8, 148) in her win.

The golf veteran came to Siena with over 30 years of experience in group and individual coaching, along with a history of success in golf operations and player development at both public access and private clubs. He has been personally responsible for over 400 lessons annually while serving as the Lead Instructor for PGA HOPE Albany Chapter.

The PGA General Manager & Head Golf Professional at Pinehaven Country Club has also assisted multiple area high school golf teams, created and performed annual clinics for LPGA Amatur Association, and trained in Operation 36 Instructional System for beginning golfers.

"I am honored and excited to be leading one of the most successful women's golf programs in MAAC history,” said Gebauer. “I look forward to helping our student athletes reach their potential, with the goal of winning a 14th MAAC Championship for our storied women's golf program."

Gebauer’s time managing event operations consisted of directing 30-35 member events and tournaments at nearby Normanside Country Club, as well as conducting 40 outings annually at Colonie Town Golf Course that hosted anywhere from 40 to over 400 players.
