Former Siena swimmer Deb Kirkpatrick returned to the Siena Swimming & Diving program as an assistant coach in September 2021.
During the team's return to a traditional season for the first time in three years, Kirkpatrick aided the Saints in logging their best postseason finish in recent memory during the 2021-22 campaign. The Saints placed sixth at the 2022 MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships for their highest finish since 2016, with two school records broken during the season and 18 new entries on the program's All-Time Top-Ten Performers List.
Kirkpatrick entered the ranks of collegiate coaching following a career in the business world, most recently working as a Member Service advisor for SEFCU for the past two years and a Member Specialist from 2015-19. she holds prior experience working for Atlas Copco Comptec in Voorheesville, NY from 2012-15, Sager Electronics in Middleboro, Massachusetts from 2005-12, and at the Ronald McDonald House in Jacksonville, Florida in 2005, where she assisted with marketing efforts between the Ronald McDonald House and the NFL leading up to Super Bowl XXXIX.
The former Deb Tagliaferro, she was a two-year member of the Saints’ swimming & diving squad during what was a highly successful period in program history from 2001-03 and helped the team finish as the Runners-Up at the 2003 MAAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships. Kirkpatrick went on to swim for the Kingsbury Club Masters Swim Team from 2008-11 and has completed several triathlons and half marathons.
Kirkpatrick earned her B.S. in communications with a concentration in public relations and a minor in english from the University of North Florida in 2005.
