Maggie Davenport announced the hiring of Michael Ardito to her coaching staff. The current head coach of nearby Mohonasen High School, Ardito will assist Davenport in all facets of the program. 
 
“We are very excited to welcome Coach Michael to our coaching staff,” Davenport said. “He has a passion for student athlete success and relationship building that compliments his knowledge and love of the sport. I am very grateful for this staff to continue to grow and learn as we build something special here at Siena.”
 
Ardito has been at the helm of the Mohonasen Boys Varsity Swimming & Diving team since November 2022. Throughout the duration of the 14-week season, the Guilderland, NY native schedules and runs five weekly practices, and schedules and coaches 10-15 meets each season. Additionally, Ardito prides his ability to aid in the personal, social-emotional and professional development of athletes through guided technique and outside of practice habits
 
Since June 2024, Ardito has also served as the Suburban League Swim Coach at Rotterdam Swim Club. There, he runs senior group practices four times a week for the team’s seven swimmers during the June-through-July season. His focus there revolves around educating swimmers how to prepare for a meet physically and psychologically. 
 
For the past two years, Ardito has also worked at Starfish Swim Club, coaching the 8-14 age range. His practices consist of 10-28 swimmers where he teaches technique, practice habits, meet habits, and readiness. 

A three-year swimmer at Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), Ardito earned his B.S. in Marine Biology in May 2022. Prior to his career at FIT, he graduated from nearby Guilderland High School where he was a two-time captain of the swim team, and held records in the 100 breaststroke, 200 medley relay and 4 x 100 free relay.
