Justin Roe was named the 15th Head Coach of the Saints Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs on August 11, 2026.
Roe, the 2026 Liberty League Coach of the Year at nearby RPI, was also the Director of Tennis for the past nine years and led the Engineers women’s team to its first Liberty League championship, NCAA Tournament appearance and NCAA Tournament victory in school history.

“Justin is a proven program builder and championship-caliber coach whose competitive track record, stellar recruiting, and exceptional student-athlete retention speaks for itself. Beyond the wins on the court, Justin's emphasis on holistic student development, academic success, and his DART leadership philosophy align seamlessly with Siena’s Franciscan values. We are excited for the future of Siena Tennis under his leadership."
Roe holds over 100 career collegiate victories and served on the NCAA Division III Operations Committee and formerly chaired the NCAA Women’s Tennis Regional Advisory Committee. His influence has garnered support for $350,000 in philanthropic support and has engaged over 2,000 stakeholders. Developing ITA All-Americans, Players of the Year, Rookies of the Year, NCAA qualifiers and national-ranked student athletes and recruiting classes, Roe has also had full retention of student athletes with none entering the transfer portal. Prior to this, Roe also served as the Director of Tennis at the Edison Club for the past three plus years and also was an assistant men’s and women’s tennis coach at NCAA Division I Seattle University, Earlham College and a lecturer and advisor at North Carolina State University.
“Justin stood out during our search process as someone who deeply understands how to build and sustain a championship culture centered on accountability, integrity, and personal growth,” said Siena Assistant Vice President/Deputy Director of Athletics of External Relations and Senior Woman Administrator Lori Anctil.
“His extensive experience in collegiate athletics, ranging from leading programs to victory in the NCAA Tournament to his involvement in national NCAA governance, makes him an incredible asset to our department. Justin’s commitment to mentoring young men and women both on and off the court will elevate our programs in the Metro and enrich our entire community. We look forward to supporting him and our student-athletes as they begin this exciting new chapter.”
Roe earned his Master of Science in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration at SUNY Buffalo State and also earned his Bachelor of Science undergrad in Criminology and Criminal Justice at Keuka College.

Tennis has been one of the great passions of my life, but coaching has always meant much more to me than wins and losses. I love competing, recruiting, developing players, and walking into a match alongside a team that truly believes in one another. Our culture will be built around togetherness and the DART philosophy that has guided me as a coach: Detail, Accountability, Relentless, and Tough. Those are not simply words — they are standards for how we practice, compete, approach academics, treat people, and respond to adversity. We will recruit student-athletes who want to be challenged, develop them every day, compete fearlessly, work relentlessly, and we will never apologize for having championship expectations. I’m ready to get to work, and I could not be prouder to call myself a Saint.”
