Siena Athletics announced the addition and return of Sarah Sivertson ’13, as she has been hired as Assistant Academic Advisor. Sivertson is a May 2013 graduate of Siena, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, with a minor in business, and a former standout of the Siena volleyball program.

“We are thrilled to have Sarah join our team,” said Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator Lori Anctil. “Being a former Siena student-athlete, along with her experience advising college students makes her a tremendous asset for our Saints.  Having known Sarah during her standout career at Siena, I am confident she will make an immediate impact with our student-athletes, coaches and campus community and continue to share in the rewarding experience of being a Saint.”

Sivertson was a four-year letter winner for the Saints, as she quickly made her way into the rotation her freshman season. She became one of the most decorated passers in program history, finishing fifth all-time in assists with 2,971. She tossed out the second-most assists in a single season in 2012, putting up 1,397 en route to the Saints 21-11 record that year. She also appeared in the fifth most sets in program history (441), and appears ninth on the program’s all-time list for Block Assists (206). While at Siena, Sivertson was also named a National Girls and Women In Sports Day Honoree, as well as held an internship position in development in the athletics department upon graduation.

Most recently, Sivertson rejoins the Saints after spending time in her hometown at Tyler Junior College as a Lead Academic Advisor. She oversaw the School of Engineering, Math & Science/School of Humanities, and the Communications & Fine Arts. She was an advisor to over 900 students on their degree requirements and annual course selection. She helped provide services such as a transfer requirements, selection of areas of study, course selection, and class scheduling.

Prior to TJC, Sivertson joined nearby Renssalear Polytechnic Institute as a student coordinator, where she was for just over three years. During that time, she also earned her Master’s Degree from Saint Rose in Higher Education Leadership and Administration. She was also head coach of Legion Volleyball Club from October 2011 until February of 2017.
