Biography
GENERAL:
- Transfer from Washington University in St. Louis
- Exceptional defensive player who comes in ready to contribute immediately
- Serves at high percentage with great movement
- Versatile enough to play any backrow position, fortifying what already was top defensive unit

- Two-time MAAC Libero of the Week and one ECAC Libero of the Week award
- One of four players to appear in all 29 matches
- Led the team with 523 digs for a 4.84 digs per set average
- Second on team with 62 assists and 23 service aces
- Season-high 31 digs vs. Canisius (11/7)
- Had 12 matches where she recorded 20 or more digs
- Recorded 25 double-digit dig matches
2014 at Washington University:
- Tallied 673 digs (third on program's all-time single-season charts) on her way to earning AVCA All-America Honorable Mention and First Team All-Central Region honors
- Received First Team All-UAA honors
- Three-time UAA Defensive Athlete of the Week
- Academic All-UAA selection
- Helped Washington to a 35-win season and the Regional Finals of the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2014
2013 at Washington University:
- Led team with 547 digs, which ranked ninth on Washington U.'s all-time single-season list
- Tallied a season-high 39 digs, the second-highest single-match total in school history, in a win at Brandeis (11/8)
- Finished third on the team with 106 assists and added 25 aces while leading the team with a .973 serving percentage
- Made just 14 service reception errors on 501 attempts for a .972 serve reception percentage
- Named to the WU Invitational All-Tournament team and selected as the UAA Defensive Athlete of the Week Oct. 14
PERSONAL/COMMUNITY:
- Full name is Kalehua Tayler Hiroe Katagiri
- Daughter of Robert and Kanoe Katagiri
- Older brother Tyler attended University of Hawaii. Also has younger brother (Makalii) and sister (Kahili)
- Enjoys going to the beach and spending time with family and friends when not on the court or in the classroom
- Chose Siena for a "new East-coast experience"
- Active in community: Volunteer at Enchanted Lake Physical Therapy in Kailua, HI (May 2015), Special Olympics Volunteer in St. Louis, MO (April 2015), Books and Basketball Mentoring Program at Shaw High School St. Louis, MO (March 2014), Cook at Church of the Crossroads (May 2013)
