Kaylee Kastrup

Kaylee Kastrup joined Siena Water Polo as an Assistant Coach in October 2022. A former collegiate player and club coach, Kastrup brings valuable experience to Loudonville.

“Kaylee comes to the program with an impressive resume of playing and coaching experience,” head coach Alex Williams said upon her appointment. “She has played collegiately at the highest levels and has been mentored by some of the game's best coaches over the past ten years. Leading up to her arrival at Siena, she put in a tremendous amount of effort to meet all our athletes' and understand their needs. She is ready to leave her mark and create a legacy.”

Kastrup came to the East Coast after spending the past decade in her home state of California as an accomplished club water polo coach. She spent ten years in multiple capacities with the San Diego Shores Water Polo Club in San Diego, CA, 12U, 14U, and 16U teams, including serving as the Co-Head Coach of the 12U co-ed team that placed first at the 2019 Junior Olympic National Championship.

Kastrup also spent time as the Pacific Southwest Zone Olympic Development Team Head coach with the USA Water Polo Development Program from 2015-18, and coached with the Dunkside Water Polo master’s program in San Diego and at The Bishop’s School in La Jolla, CA. She led programs at The Bishop’s School to multiple CIF conference titles, and was given the Brett Bohlender Distinguished Coaching Award in 2022.

A native of Oceanside, CA, Kastrup earned a B.S. in Exercise Science with a minor in Religion from California Lutheran University in 2015, and received an M.A. in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine in 2016. A four-year member of the women’s water polo team at Cal Lutheran, she served as a two-year team captain, and was a four-time CWPA All-Academic Award recipient.
