Chris Hamilton joined Siena Baseball as Director of Player Development in September 2023.
In 2025, he helped lead Siena to one of the most significant turnarounds in program history. The Saints recorded their most overall wins in nine years with 22 victories, marking a 10-win improvement from the 2024 season.
Siena matched its highest MAAC win total in 20 years with 17 conference victories, finishing tied for third place after being projected to place 11th out of 13 teams in the MAAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The 17 MAAC wins more than doubled the team’s conference total from the previous season and secured Siena’s first MAAC Tournament berth in four years and just its second since 2018.
After opening league play 3–6 following three consecutive series losses, the Saints surged down the stretch, posting a 14–7 record in MAAC play the rest of the way. From April 4 through May 12, Siena captured six straight MAAC series—the program’s longest streak since winning nine consecutive series from April 2016 to April 2017—and opened the conference slate by winning eight straight series openers.
The 2025 season also saw Siena return to prominence in the league’s individual honors. The Saints produced their first All-MAAC selections in four years, led by staff ace Alistair Morin, who earned First Team All-MAAC recognition—the program’s first such honor in six years. Aidan Paradine and Jake Sparks were also named Second Team All-MAAC, further underscoring the program’s resurgence.
Stepping into a collegiate coaching role for the first time, Hamilton joins the Saints after a decorated five-year playing career at Stony Brook University from 2016-21. A two-time First Team All-America East selection in 2019 and 2021, he completed his collegiate career ranked inside the program's career top-ten in home runs, RBI's doubles, and walks. He earned America East All-Tournament Team honors in 2018, and was named the 2019 America East Conference Tournament MVP while leading the Seawolves to the NCAA Tournament. He was rated among the nation's top 150 hitters by DIBaseball.com.
"After finishing his career as one of the best hitters in Stony Brook's history, Chris will bring valuable experience as our Director of Player Development," head coach Alex Jurczynski said upon Hamilton's appointment, "Chris has a strong connection to the Capital Region community and will help the program in many areas. We are lucky to have someone of Chris's caliber on staff."
Hamilton earned his B.S. in Business Marketing in 2020 and his Advanced Graduate Certificate in Coaching in 2021 from Stony Brook. In 2022, he became the youngest member of the John Ramsey Leadership Society, choosing to give back to the Stony Brook baseball program with a multi- year, major gift commitment. He is also a board member of the Hammy Rel13f Fund, a charitable organization he and his brother Jimmy established in 2021 which has raised over $75,000 for causes such as Alzheimer's research.
A two-sport star at nearby Schalmont High School in soccer and baseball, he holds the New York State High School Record for goals in a season with 66, and as a First Team All-State selection, as well as a two-time Albany Times Union Player of the Year. He also helped the baseball program win the 2014 State Championship and reach the Semifinals in 2016.
