Jordan Jones Headshot August 2025

Jordan Jones

Siena Women’s Basketball Head Coach Terry Primm announced the addition of two-time Southeastern Conference (SEC) Defensive Player of the Year and three-time SEC All-Defensive Team selection Jordan Jones as an assistant coach. The No. 34 overall pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky joins the Saints after serving as an assistant coach at Southern Illinois.

“I am extremely excited to welcome Jordan Jones to our coaching staff,” said Primm. “Her impressive playing career— combined with her high-level coaching experience at both the Division I and elite travel levels— brings a wealth of knowledge and perspective to our program. Jordan’s passion for developing players both on and off the court aligns perfectly with the vision and culture, and we can’t wait to see the impact she will have on our program.”

An Honorable Mention AP All-American in 2014-15 out of Texas A&M, Jones finished her collegiate career third all-time in program history with 707 assists and was the first player since 1990 to lead the SEC in assists in three straight seasons. She helped lead the Aggies to the 2013 SEC Championship, as well as the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight one season later. During the 2014 Elite Eight run, Jones led the field with 35 assists, including 16 in the second round against James Madison —the most in Texas A&M tournament history, the most in any NCAA Second Round game, and the sixth-most in NCAA Tournament history.

“I am very excited to be a part of this prestigious university,” said Jones. “I thank God and Coach Primm for this amazing opportunity. I can't wait to get started and help continue to build this program. Go Saints!”

Over two seasons coaching at Southern Illinois, the DeSoto, TX, native scouted potential student-athletes and decoded film for individual and team sessions. She was in charge of defensive concepts and schemes for game planning and constructing scout plans against opponents.

Prior to Southern Illinois, Jones was the assistant coach at DeSoto High School for one year, where she helped lead the team to the UIL 6A State Championship. She also spent one season at Harris Stowe State as an assistant coach, where she helped lead the program to its first .500 season in over 10 years.
