Siena University Vice President and Director of Athletics John D'Argenio has announced Morgan Soulia as the new head coach of the Siena Swimming & Diving program and Aquatics Coordinator in September 2026.
Soulia brings more than a decade of coaching and aquatics leadership experience spanning NCAA collegiate, high school, club, summer league, and adult swimming programs. She joins the Saints after serving as the Head Swimming and Diving Coach at Chatham University, where she has directed all aspects of the NCAA Division III program, including training, recruiting, meet strategy, student-athlete development, scheduling, facility coordination, fundraising, community engagement, and NCAA compliance.

"Morgan brings a tremendous breadth of coaching and aquatics experience, and she has demonstrated an ability to develop student-athletes, build programs, and create strong connections within the communities she serves. Her experience leading a collegiate program, combined with her background in aquatics operations, makes her an outstanding fit for this position."
Soulia takes over a Siena program with a strong tradition of academic achievement. The Saints have earned CSCAA Scholar All-America Team recognition for 28 consecutive semesters, including a 3.65 team GPA during the Spring 2026 semester.
As the Head Swimming and Diving Coach at Chatham, Soulia has overseen comprehensive training plans, technical development, recruiting, meet strategy and competitive execution while mentoring student-athletes in academic success, leadership development, time management and personal accountability. She has also led fundraising, alumni engagement, community outreach, camps and clinics, and program branding initiatives.
"Morgan stood out throughout the search process because of the depth of her experience and her commitment to developing the whole student-athlete," said Siena Assistant Vice President/Deputy Director of Athletics of External Relations and Senior Woman Administrator Lori Anctil. “She understands what it takes to build a successful program, but just as importantly, she understands the importance of relationships, accountability, communication, and creating an environment where student-athletes can thrive. Her experience as both a Division I student-athlete and collegiate coach gives her a unique perspective that will serve our Saints extremely well."
Prior to Chatham, Soulia served as the Head Varsity and Head Middle School Coach at Chartiers Valley High School, where she led the program to its first section championship in school history, multiple school-record performances, and its first WPIAL/PIAA qualifiers and finishers in more than a decade. She also helped grow the program by more than 200 percent over three years.
Soulia has extensive experience in club and community aquatics as well. She currently serves as Regional Manager and League Director for Grown Up Swimming, where she founded and grew a competitive adult summer swim league by nearly 300 percent from its first to second year. Her previous coaching experience includes leadership roles with Pittsburgh Elite Aquatics, Hershey Aquatic Club, and the Weinstein JCC Dolphin Club.
In her role as Aquatics Coordinator, Soulia will also bring significant experience in facility operations, scheduling, equipment oversight, staff supervision, aquatics safety and community programming. She holds American Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED/First Aid and Water Safety Instruction, as well as USA Swimming Coach certification.

A former NCAA Division I student-athlete at the University of Richmond, Soulia was a four-year varsity swimmer and Atlantic 10 champion in the 200 individual medley (IM), with her 200IM title also enough to earn an NCAA B Cut. She also competed in water polo during high school.
Soulia holds a Master of Arts in Special Education from Point Park University, a Master of Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Richmond.
Soulia becomes the next head coach of the Siena Swimming & Diving program following the departure of Maggie Davenport. Under Davenport, the Saints earned CSCAA Scholar All-America Team recognition during each of her two seasons, extending Siena's streak of academic recognition to 28 consecutive semesters.
