RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Four different Siena players scored to lead the Saints to a 4-0 MAAC victory over Manhattan (5-6-1, 3-3 MAAC) Thursday afternoon.
The Saints (3-6-1, 2-2 MAAC) exploded for all four goals over a 31-minute span surrounding halftime. Patrick Wren (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) got the scoring started on a penalty kick just before halftime.
Siena put the game away early in the second half when Paul Ciovacco (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Arlington), Joe Vitale (Scotia, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) and David Martella (Northport, N.Y./Kings Park) all added goals in a 15-minute span.
Jonathan Hicks (Merrick, N.Y./Chaminade) and Ryan Jordan (Monroe, N.Y./Manhattan College) combined to make four saves in the shutout.
Siena continues a three-game road trip at St. Peter's on Sunday.
