Siena Cruises to 68-52 Win Over Hartford

ALBANY, N.Y. - Siena (4-7) connected on seven of its first nine shots, including five three-point field goals, building an insurmountable 18-5 lead just six minutes into the game. Senior guard Dwayne Archbold again paced Siena's offensive attack with 19 points (14 in the first half), as the Saints coasted to a 68-52 victory over Hartford (2-8) in front of 5,274 at Pepsi Arena in Albany Tuesday evening.

The Saints were sensational on offense in the initial stanza, shooting 59% from the floor and 60% from three-point range. The Siena defense limited the Hawks to just 18% from the floor en route to a 37-18 halftime advantage. Had Hartford not out-rebounded the Saints 13-0 on the offensive glass, the game could have been out of hand at the break.

The Hawks posted a mild rally to start off the second half, closing to within 15 points with 12:28 remaining. Archbold quickly led a Siena response, connecting on one of his five three point field goals to push the Saints' lead back to 20, 52-32.

Archbold's registered his second double-double of the season grabbing 11 rebounds.

Junior Amous and Josh Odugbela led Hartford with 16 and 12 points respectively.

Siena shot 49% from the field and 53% from beyond the three-point arc on the game after entering the contest shooting just 39% from the floor on the season. Hartford shot just 27% from the field.

The crowd of 5,274 marked the 40th consecutive home game in which Siena drew at least 5,000 fans.

The Saints return to action next Thursday, December 20 at Pepsi Arena against St. Bonaventure. The game is set to tip off at 7 p.m.
