Olean, N.Y. - The Siena men's golf team opened its season with a strong fifth-place finish at the St. Bonaventure Invitational held over the weekend. The host school won their own tournament for the first time since 1997.
The Bonnies won the tournament with a total score of 582. Duquesne finished seven shots back at 589 while St. Francis was at 590. Drexel (594) and Siena (595) completed the top five.
Jay Lindell of St. Bonaventure took medalist honors with a score of 141. Jim Ohlsen and Mark Thornhill of Siena tied for fifth with final scores of 145.
