NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (AP) - Dwayne Archbold scored nine of his 29 points in overtime Thursday night and Siena beat Iona 79-70 to snap a three-game losing streak.
Prosper Karangwa added 19 points and Austin Andrews had 13 for the Saints (5-10, 2-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).
Maceo Wofford scored 20 points and Courtney Fields added 17 for the Gaels (5-9, 2-1).
Iona overcame an 11-point deficit in the second half when Wofford scored with 41 seconds left in regulation to tie the game 64-64 and force the overtime.
The Gaels led 33-29 after a first half which produced nine lead changes and four ties.
A 3-pointer by Karangwa capped a 10-0 run that gave Siena a 43-39 lead with 14:22 left in regulation. The Saints made it 55-44 with a 9-0 run that ended with a three-point play by Archbold with 9:45 remaining.
Iona went on a 12-2 run, highlighted by consecutive 3-pointers by Leland Norris and Wofford, that trimmed Siena's lead to 60-59.
The Saints, who finished 19-of-20 from the free throw line to just 14-of-25 by the Gaels, made four free throws in the final minute of overtime to seal the win.
