Saints Drop Overtime Decision To Manhattan, 75-70

NEW YORK (AP) - Dave Holmes scored 16 points, including a crucial three-point play with 3:22 left in overtime, to lead Manhattan to a 75-70 victory over Siena on Tuesday night.

The game was stopped by a bench-clearing shoving match just 58 seconds in. Holmes and Siena's Dwayne Archbold received technicals, but no players were ejected.

Luis Flores scored with 43.2 seconds left in regulation, tying the game at 66 and forcing overtime. He finished with 20 points as the Jaspers (17-4, 9-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) extended their winning streak to three games.

Mugsy Green added 13 points for Manhattan.

Prosper Karangwa scored 16 points, and Andy Cavo and Michael Buhrman each added 11 points for the Saints (10-14, 7-5), who lost for the fourth time in six games.

Siena built an early 10-point lead, but led by just two points, 40-38, at the break.

The Saints went on a 10-point run and took a 56-47 lead on a basket by Burhman with 9:42 left in the second half.

Manhattan countered with a 14-3 run and took a 61-59 lead when Green made two free throws with 4:52 left.

Karangwa scored with 1:14 left to give the Saints a 66-64 lead. Flores tied the game in the final minute, capping a second half that included six lead changes and five ties.

Austin Andrews' basket gave Siena a 68-66 lead in overtime, but Jared Johnson made two free throws and Holmes converted a three-point play to help seal the win for the Jaspers.

Johnson finished with 10 points.
