LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Providence scored the first 11 goals of the game en route to a comfortable 23-8 victory over Siena Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Friars improved to 6-2 and 3-0 in the MAAC while the Saints fell to 1-3 and 0-1 in conference play.
Chris Houston led the Friars with four goals while Kyle Ojakian added two goals and four assists. 12 different Providence players scored goals and 14 scored points. The Friars were six of eight with a man advantage.
The Saints battled throughout, scoring eight goals in the game's final 36 minutes. Tom Nally (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) had a huge day, scoring four goals and dishing out two assists. Dan Wolpert (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Kennedy) added two goals and Ryan Conway (Slingerlands, N.Y./CBA) added a goal and an assist.
Siena travels to Holy Cross for a matchup on Wednesday in Worcester, Mass.
