ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Michael Haddix scored 18 points and Prosper Karangwa added 13 as Siena defeated Iona 65-55 Friday.
Haddix scored six straight points early before the Gaels (8-6) responded with seven points seven minutes into the game to make the score 8-7.
The Saints (9-4) followed with a five point spurt and Iona countered with 13 consecutive points before Iona led 24-21 at half time.
Siena grabbed the lead in the second half 25-24 on an Austin Andrews put-back. The Gaels answered with 14 of the game's next 21 points to make it 38-31.
Justin Miller's two free throws for the Saints at 11:15 capped an 8-0 run before Maceo Wofford scored four points for Iona, extending the lead to five with under 10 minutes to play.
But Karangwa's 3-pointer started a 7-0 run as Siena grabbed a 52-49 lead with five minutes left. Haddix followed with another six points.
Wofford led Iona with 12 points, and Steve Smith and Ricky Soliver added 9 points each.
