Saints Knock Off Niagara, 78-73

LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP) - Prosper Karangwa had 22 points and eight rebounds to lead Siena to a 78-73 win over Niagara on Tuesday night.

Siena (10-4), which led 32-29 at halftime, went on a 13-5 run halfway through the second half, giving the Saints a 64-56 lead with 8:30 to play.

The Purple Eagles (6-8) went on a late 13-2 run, led by Juan Mendez and Tremmel Darden with six points each, to take a three-point lead. But Siena's Tommy Mitchell hit his fourth 3-pointer of the game with 1:30 remaining to put the Saints ahead for good.

Michael Haddix scored 13 points for Siena, while Brent Sniezyk and Mitchell added 12 points apiece. Karangwa had a game-high eight assists.

Mendez led Niagara with 21 points and eight rebounds, while Darden added 17 points and six assists. James Reaves had 10 points and six assists for the Purple Eagles.
