Siena Rallies Past Rider, 71-64

LAWRENCE, N.J. (AP) - Tommy Mitchell scored 20 points and Michael Haddix added 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead Siena College past Rider University 71-64 Thursday night.

Rider (8-6, 2-2 MAAC) led 50-45 with 11:51 to play. Then Siena went on an 8-0 run to take a 53-50 lead with 8:40 to go. It was the ninth lead change of the game, and Rider never led again.

Siena (5-10 2-4 MAAC) led 61-58 with 2:51 left to play, then went on an 8-2 run to take a 69-60 lead with less than a minute to play.

Four Broncs scored in double figures, led by Steve Castleberry, who finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds. It was his fourth consecutive double-double game.

Rider also made 10 3-point field goals but shot just .367 from the field. Siena shot .511 from the field.
