LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP) - David Brooks had 17 points to lead Niagara past Siena 62-58 Friday, despite scoring its lowest point total of the season.
With the score tied at 51, Niagara's Alvin Cruz found Tremmell Darden coming off a back door screen for an open dunk with 1:20 to go, giving the Purple Eagles (11-5, 5-2 MAAC) the lead for good. The dunk was Darden's only field goal of the game. He finished with six points and seven assists.
James Reaves had 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Purple Eagles, who came into the game with the MAAC's No. 1 offense. Juan Mendez added 10 points and eight rebounds.
Justin Miller led Siena (6-11, 3-5) with 14 points, and Michael Haddix and Tommy Mitchell each had eight points. Haddix added nine rebounds.
