Saints Drop 10th in a Row 82-67

Saint Peter's College (7-5, 3-0) utilized a balanced attack in defeating Siena College (3-10, 0-3) tonight at the Pepsi Arena by a score of 82-67. The Peacocks placed four players in double figures in beating the Saints for the first time since January 22, 1998.

Trailing 33-29 at the intermission the Green and Gold began the second half by going on an 8-2 run and took their last lead of the second half on a Michael Haddix jump shot with 15:39 remaining. Saint Peter's responded by going on a 26-9 tear to match their largest lead of the night at 61-46 with 6:46 to play. Keydren Clark, the nation's leading scorer at 26.4ppg, scored 11 points during the decisive sequence and finished with a game-high 24. The Saints made one last charge by scoring seven of the next nine points and inched with 64-55 on a Tommy Mitchell three-pointer from the top of the key. However, Shane Nichols answered with a three of his own and the St.Peter's advantage would remain in double figures the remainder of the way.

The Saints played a strong first half in holding St.Peter's to just 31% shooting from the field and led by as many as seven points on three separate occasions the last of which came at 7:59 mark of the first half (21-14). The Peacocks counted by going on a 19-8 spurt and took a 33-29 lead into the intermission.

Siena placed four players in double figures led by Michael Haddix's 16 points and nine rebounds. Joining Haddix in double figures were Justin Miller (12), Antoine Jordan (11) and Austin Andrews (10). The Saints return to the floor a week from tonight at Loyola College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30
