Siena Names Susan Yund Athletic Academic Advisor

Susan Yund has been hired as athletic academic advisor at Siena College, it was announced today by Director of Athletics John D'Argenio. Yund, a native of Castleton, N.Y., received both her undergraduate degree and her master's degree of education in counseling from the University of New Hampshire.

"We take a great deal of pride in the academic development of our student athletes at Siena," D'Argenio said. "Sue's charge is to help our students athletes achieve the excellence in the classroom we have come to expect. Academic success is a top priority for us, and Sue will be a great resource for all our student athletes."

Yund most recently worked as an academic advisor intern at New Hampshire as she completed her master's degree this past spring. She gained additional experience in 2003 when she served as a substitute teacher in both New Hampshire and New York. Yund also served in the guidance department at Portsmouth High School in New Hampshire, and was a teacher's assistant in the UNH psychology department.

A 2002 graduate with a bachelor of arts in psychology, Yund has held various leadership positions ranging from coaching experience to captaining the nationally ranked UNH lacrosse team her senior season.

Yund's duties as athletic academic advisor range from monitoring the academic progress and eligibility of all student-athletes to conducting study hall and providing any support services student-athletes may need.
