Soccer Folds to Vermont

Sept. 29, 2004

Final Stats

Vermont senior Ronan Keegan scored the first goal within three minutes of play off an assist from Tony Anderson to lead the Catamounts to a 2-0 victory over Siena Wednesday afternoon. The loss sends the Saints to 0-5-1. Vermont improves to 5-3-1

Sophomore midfielder Michael Battiste led the Saints with two shots, one on goal. Siena fought hard in the second half and out-shot the Catamounts 3-2 in the half.

Early in the second half Vermont scored off on an own-goal. Midfielder Patrick Wyld split the Saints defense and the ball deflected just past Saints keeper Patrick Henry. Siena got a strong performance from Henry, who had two saves, but the Saints defense allowed the Catamounts too many chances. The Saints led in shots 9-5 with three on goal and corners 8-2.

Siena will continue home play next Wednesday as they take on Army at 3 pm.
