Final Stats
The Saints won all six singles matches and took two of the three double matches in a competitive 7-0 sweep at Sacred Heart Wednesday. The sweep was the second of the season for the upstart Saints who improved to 4-3 on the year.
Despite the 7-0 score, there were several competitive matches. Chris Affredou went the distance with Joe Merendino at third singles, winning the decisive third game 10-7. Nino Alivodic held off Bryan Rogers 10-5 in the third set after two tie breakers in the first two sets. Freshmen Jeremy Deuel and Nick Rutherford continued their strong play at the top of the Saints ledger with straight set wins at first and second singles respectively.
Siena took the doubles point with a key 9-8 (4) win at second doubles as captain Mike Aliotta and Jose Loren rallied for a win over Merendino and Kevin Guidiopietro.
The Saints return to action at home against Wagner on Monday.
