It's not so often that you see a coach transform a team quite like Tom Wronowski has. In his seventh year as head coach of the Saints, Wronowski has lifted the team from promiscuity to prominence in such a short period of time. He hopes that this year will be the year that Siena will leave its mark in the MAAC. Last year, the team came in second at the JetBlue MAAC Championships, close behind Loyola College, who won their eighth straight championship. "I'm extremely pleased with the way our team played," said Wronowski. "I couldn't be more proud with this group of guys."

This season, Siena hopes to claim the MAAC Championship, ending Loyola's two-year streak. With sheer determination and a talented core of golfers, Siena will be shooting for respect from all who cross their path on the golf course.

Siena plans to surmount from a "sub-par" performance last fall. The team looks to advance on all facets of the game. "I've seen a lot of improvement from all the players," said Coach Wronowski. "There's no question in my mind that this spring, we will be a force to be reckoned with."

Siena took 1st place last fall at the Lehigh Don Mershon Invitational, defeating the likes of Delaware, Bucknell and Rider. Junior Robby Bigley led the Saints, who tied for third in the tournament, shooting an overall score of 150. The Saints tied for fourth at the Hofstra Invitational, but later came in ninth against Cornell, and 10th at the St. Bonaventure Leo Keenan Invitational.

This spring, Siena looks to carry onward and start with a clean slate. All signs are pointing to success with these talented golfers.

Seniors

Brad Myatt and Jeremy Youngs are the only two seniors on the team. Myatt, a co-captain last year, and Youngs claim the role as the true leaders of the team. Myatt tied for 33rd last fall at the Hofstra Invitational and he tied for 15th at the Lehigh Invitational, shooting 155 and 154, respectively. He also led the Saints against Cornell, shooting a combined score of 150. That score placed him at 26th among individuals for the match. Myatt hopes that his continued success will follow him this spring, as he will help the Saints strive for glory.

Jeremy Youngs is the other co-captain of the team. With a combination of Youngs and Myatt as leaders, the Siena golf program looks promising this spring. Youngs takes pride in his leadership role of the Saints, and he spreads his maturity among the other players.

Juniors

As the lone junior on the team, Robby Bigley represents the heart and soul of the team. Bigley tied for seventh at the Hofstra Invitational last fall, shooting a combined score of 148. He also tied for third at the Lehigh Don Mershon Invitational, shooting a 150. Bigley brings a wide array of talents to the Saints. He was also named to the 2003 and 2004 All-MAAC team.

Sophomores

Bryan Bigley finished eighth at the MAAC Tournament last year and he played in all 10 of the Saints' tournaments. Bigley is a talented player who brings a solid "A" game every time he walks out onto the course. Last summer, he qualified for the U.S. Amateur Championship at Wingfoot Country Club, one of the oldest and most highly coveted championships in the country. As a freshman, Bryan was named to the All-MAAC team in 2004 and is expected to be a major contributor at this year's championship. Others who have stepped up this year include Jeremy Melchior and Allen Parker. Melchior, who led the Saints in the fall with a 75 scoring average and Parker whose consistent play throughout the year, have really solidified the fourth and fifth spots. Brian Dunn, another of the sophomore group, qualified for the New York State Amateurs this past summer and is expected to make his presence felt.

Freshman

Brandon Conti, a red-shirt freshman, is coming off an injury plagued first year and is looking for the opportunity to jump into the playing group. Chris Haggerty and Matt Lenter are two true freshman who continue to work hard on their game and await their chance to contribute to the Saints cause.
