Jessica Horan Tabbed Assistant Athletic Trainer at Siena College

Aug. 3, 2005

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Head athletic trainer Greg Dashnaw announced the hiring of Jessica Horan to the position of assistant athletic trainer at Siena College. She will assist with all aspects of the operations of Siena's athletic training room.

"We are very lucky to have Jessica on board at Siena," Dashnaw commented. "When you seek the best you get the best. Jessica has a great attitude, and after working with her for two years, I knew of her dedication to the treatment of student athletes."

No stranger to Siena, Horan has spent the last two years working Siena's summer camps while enrolled at Russell Sage College where she earned her B.S. in athletic training in 2005. While with the Gators, she worked as a Teacher's Assistant for Sports Medicine I Lab and served as a student athletic trainer for the women's soccer team during her sophomore year.

Horan joins the athletic department after one year with The College of Saint Rose where she oversaw soccer, volleyball, track, basketball, swimming, baseball, softball and tennis. Prior to coming to Siena, Horan was a student trainer at South Colonie CSD where she worked for the boy's and girl's middle and high school athletic teams.

The 2005 valedictorian at Russell Sage received the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association Undergraduate Scholarship Award and was named to Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

Horan is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and is certified in First Aid, CPR and AED.
