LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - In a combined effort between the Siena Athletic Department and the Office of Alumni Relations, the Third Annual Alumni Games and Hall of Fame Induction will be held at Siena College Sept. 23-25. The weekend's festivities include Alumni Games for men's and women's soccer, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's rugby, women's basketball, water polo, ice hockey and baseball.
"We're very excited to welcome our former student-athletes back to campus for the weekend," assistant athletic director Kim Moutz said. "It's an excellent opportunity for alumni to reconnect with old teammates and get to know our current student-athletes."
The weekend reaches its zenith with the Hall of Fame ceremony scheduled to take place in the Marcelle Athletic Complex lobby at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24. Last year, a pair of members of the class of 1998 were inducted, Timothy Christman (baseball) and Reggie Greene (football).
"The Hall of Fame is an elite group of people instrumental to the success and growth of our program since intercollegiate competition began in 1937," director of alumni relations Nate Maloney '00 said. "It's imperative for our student-athletes to embrace those who came before them and to get a better understanding of the special opportunity they have while wearing the Green and Gold."
The weekend gets started with the men's ice hockey game, to be held at the Albany County Hockey Facility, on Friday Sept. 23 at 8:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, kicks off at 11 a.m. with women's lacrosse, at the practice field, followed by a noon reunion game for women's basketball, in the Alumni Recreation Center. Men's and women's soccer square off at 1 p.m. on the main field as men's lacrosse takes center stage on the practice field. The weekend wraps up on Sunday, Sept. 25, with noon starts for the men's rugby, baseball, and women's water polo. The final alumni game is in women's rugby at 1 p.m.
All former players are invited to be a part of the weekend's events including all 94 current Hall of Fame inductees. Spectators are welcome at the games as well. Cost for the Induction Reception is $20 per person. Reservations can be made by calling 518-783-2430.
