Freshmen Jeremy Deuel and Nick Rutherford held the top two singles spots and Siena received solid contributions up and down its roster in a 7-0 blanking of visiting Holy Cross in Loudonville Saturday afternoon. The Saints won all six singles matches and took two of the three doubles competitions to claim the final point of the match.
Deuel defeated Kelly 6-3 and 6-2 at top singles and Rutherford held off Marco Lombardo 6-3 and 7-5 at second doubles to pace the home team. Chris Auffredou, Mike Aliotta, Jose Loren and Nino Alivodic each won their singles matches as well. Alivodic won one of the most exciting matches of the day, taking down Tom Moran 6-7 (3), 7-6 (4) and 10-5.
