Jordan Carries Saints Past Peacocks, 77-69

Senior Antoine Jordan fell one point short of his career high, coring 28 points, including his 1000th career point as Siena defeated Saint Peter's 77-69 at Pepsi Arena in Albany. Levi Osby scored 12 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a spot start as the Saints improved to 6-1 at home and 3-4 in the MAAC.

The Siena defense held two-time defending national scoring champ Keydren Clark in check most of the night. Clark scored 12 of his 25 points in the final eight minutes and 21 in the second half.

"I was pleased with the way we executed our game plan, especially on the defensive end of the floor," head coach Fran McCaffery said following the game. "(Saint Peter's) is a team that can come back on you in a hurry, and I was happy with the way we held them in check."

Jordan scored 16 of Siena's 36 points in the first half as the Saints took a seven point lead to the lockerroom.

Saint Peter's got no closer than five in the second half and Siena held a double digit lead for the majority of the final stanza.

Osby, starting in place of David Ryan (concussion), set career highs in points and rebounds. Kenny Hasbrouck was the only other Saint in double figures with 13 points.

Kaimondre Owes and Raul Orta scored 13 and 10 points to round out the Peacocks in double figures.

Siena out-rebounded the Peacocks 43-42 marking the first time this season the team ahs out-rebounded its opponent in back-to-back games. The Saints defense limited the Peacocks to just 38% from the floor after allowing better than 55% in its last two games.

The Saints host Canisius Sunday at 2 p.m.
