BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Kenny Hasbrouck scored 18 points to lead three players in double-figures as Siena topped Vermont, 76-65, Monday night.
Hasbrouck tallied 16 in the first half as the Saints (6-4) built an early lead that the Catamounts (5-6) chased all game. He hit three straight three-pointers in a 15-0 run to give Siena a 29-13 lead just under 11 minutes into the game.
Vermont, behind three-pointers by Josh Duell, Ryan Schneider and Mike Trimboli, answered with a 15-0 run to cut the deficit to three, 31-28, with 3:35 left in the half. But Siena outscored UVM 11-2 the rest of the half to take a 42-30 lead at the break.
Vermont opened the second half strong but could never get closer than three, 47-44, midway through the period. Each following comeback bid was stopped by the Saints who also closed it out at the foul line. Kojo Mensah hit six straight in the last 1:05 as Siena went 14-for-19 from the stripe in the second half.
