TELFORD, Pa. - Senior Bryan Bigley (Rotterdam, N.Y./Schalmont) fired an even-par 72, finishing the 2006 Don Mershon Lehigh Invitational in first place Monday afternoon in Telford, Pa. Bigley finished the tournament five strokes ahead of Bucknell's Charles Waddell who finished second.
As a team, the Saints finished in fifth place with a combined two-day score of 627. Garnering the invitational crown was Saint Francis (Pa.) with a 612, followed by Bucknell and host Lehigh who both tied for second with a 614. Rounding out the top-five finishing teams was Monmouth University with a combined score of 617.
For the Saints, junior Matt Lentner (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville Manlius) finished 18th after shooting a 77 in today's final round. Senior Allen Parker (Blandford, Mass./Gateway Regional) shot a combined score of 163, placing him tied for 29th, while Chris Haggerty (Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury) finished tied for 36th with a 166. Rounding out the quintet of Siena golfers, senior Jeremy Melchior (Hannawa Falls, N.Y./Potsdam) finished in 43rd place with a score of 168.
