Loudonville, N.Y. - Men's soccer added their first conference victory of the year over Manhattan College 1-0 this afternoon at Siena Field. Sophomore Ross Cardinell (Loudonville, N.Y./Shaker) posted the game winner at 91:56. The Saints improve to 1-2-0 on the year in league action.

A solid defensive effort was displayed on both sides of the ball in the scoreless 90 minutes of regulation. Senior Patrick Henry (LaGrangeville, N.Y./Arlington) tallied six saves on the day. Henry registered a game saving stop with under 10 seconds left in regulation. Jasper midfielder Tony Safran fired the ball from the left side of the box with just seconds to play. Henry dove cross goal for the save to secure overtime. Freshman Kevin Gluchowski (Carmel, N.Y./Mahopac) registered solid play in the backfield helping Henry anchor the Saints defense.

Under two minutes into the overtime session, forward Delmiro Fernandez (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) fed Cardinell who fired a shot cross goal from six yards out for the game winner. This marked Cardinell's first goal of his career as a Saint.

Jaspers goaltender John Ciano accumulated six saves on the game. Ciano falls to 2-9-0 in net on the year. Henry registered his first shutout of the year and improves to 2-8-0 on the season.

The Saints (2-8-1/1-2-0) return to action on Sunday versus Saint Peter's at 1:00 p.m. on Siena Field.
