COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - D.J. Strawberry scored a career-high 23 points to lead Maryland to a 94-75 win against Siena on Sunday.
Ekene Ibekwe added 18 points and nine rebounds, and James Gist scored 17 points and a career-high 13 rebounds for the Terrapins (13-2).
Maryland got all they could handle from the Saints (6-5), who led several times in the first half. The score was tied at halftime.
The Terrapins led by just one point before going on a 20-7 run midway through the second half. Maryland led 54-53 with 14:30 to play, but extended the lead to 74-60 with 7:45 to go with the decisive run.
During the run, Strawberry scored nine points and Gist added six points.
Siena shot just 34 percent from the field, and Maryland made 54 percent of their shots. Siena scored a school-record 11 three-pointers.
Kenny Hasbrouck led Siena with 16 points, and David Ryan added 15 points on five 3-pointers as the Saints had four players in double-figures.
Michael Haddix added 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Edwin Ubiles 11 points and nine rebounds for the Saints.
Maryland outscored Siena 25-8 at the foul line, making 20 in the second half.
