Final Stats

The Marist men's tennis team posted a 7-0 victory over Siena on Wednesday in the first match played at the Marist Tennis Pavilion.

Pedro Genovese earned a 6-4, 6-1 first singles victory over Jeremy Deuel. Gregory Marks (Newburgh, N.Y./Newburgh Free Academy) collected a 6-1, 6-3 win over Nick Rutherford at second singles. Ray Josephs picked up a 6-0, 6-4 victory at third singles over Stefan Putyera. At fourth singles, Federico Rolon downed Kevin Gioia, 6-2, 7-5. Antonio Oliver earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at fifth singles against Chris Auffredou. At sixth singles, Frank Algier defeated Mike Aliotta, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Marist also won all three doubles matches. Genovese and Rolon topped Deuel and Rutherford at first doubles, 8-5. Marks and Josephs shut out Putyera and Jay Godbole, 8-0. Oliver and Jeff Nguyen got past Gioia and Auffredou, 8-3.

Siena fell to 0-2 overall with the loss. The match was the MAAC opener for the Saints.
