LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Fourteen Siena student-athletes were recently inducted into a national honor society highlighting their academic excellence throughout the 2006-07 academic year. The various honorees became the newest members of either Delta Epsilon Sigma (national scholastic honor society), Phi Alpha Theta (national history honor society) or the Beta Gamma Sigma (business honor society).
Student-athletes from the men's tennis, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's cross country, women's basketball, women's volleyball and field hockey teams earned these premier academic accolades.
Delta Epsilon Sigma, a national scholastic honor society, celebrates the success of students, faculty, and alumni of colleges and universities with a Catholic tradition. This year, Traci Baldwin (Field Hockey '08) Emily Winslow (Field Hockey/Women's Lacrosse '08) and Anne Redcross (Cross Country '07) were inducted into the Siena chapter of this society which requires a minimum GPA of 3.8.
The society was founded in 1939 to recognize academic accomplishments, scholarly activities, and to encourage a sense of intellectual community among its members. Over 100 colleges and universities maintain established chapters of Delta Epsilon Sigma.

Phi Alpha Theta's mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians.
Beta Gamma Sigma is the national honor society for students of business from AACSB accredited schools. Since it was founded in 1913, Beta Gamma Sigma has inducted more than 560,000 outstanding students into its membership.
