Loudonville, N.Y. - Freshman Brina Seguine finished third overall at the Fairfield Invitational helping the Siena women's cross country team to a third place finish this afternoon. Senior Darren Legere was the Saints top finisher on the men's side clocking in at 28:15.20 for 11th overall as the team captured fourth place.
Sacred Heart placed first overall in the men's competition compiling 31 points on the afternoon, while Fordham was a close second with 32. The two schools also finished in the same order on the women's side.
Andrea Hollinger took seventh place finishing just behind Seguine at 20:32.95. Casey Morelli (21:46.50), Samantha Grady (21:47.15) and Ashley Gardineer (21:50.98) rounded out the top five finishers for Siena.
Saints sophomore Jed Turnbull finished the 8K course in 28:42.80 good enough for 16th overall. John Hart (29:25.40), Ryan Donnelly (29:28.20) and Mike Costello (29:44.40) also scored for the men.
The Saints return to action close to home on October 13 when they participate in the UAlbany Invitational.
