FARMINGDALE, NY – Senior Colin Brunelle turned in the fastest Saints' time, turning and burning for a personal best time of 24:32.8 in an 8K and freshman Ciara Clinton made her mark by being the top Siena runner at the ECAC / IC4A Cross Country Championships at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, NY on Saturday.

Brunelle, the West Sand Lake, NY native, trimmed off nearly 12 seconds from his previous best time at last year's conference championships and placed 22^nd overall in a field that included 25 teams.

The Siena Men finished 16^th overall and beat out five rival Metro schools such as Iona, Quinnipiac, Fairfield, Manhattan and Saint Peter's.

"It was a great run by the men today," said Siena head cross country coach Elizabeth DeBole.

"Colin [Brunelle] was the top finisher and ran a great race. We got a big run by Nick Downing—a step up from the true freshman! The women ran solid. Ciara [Clinton] was a fearless leader after missing some time.  It was a circling the wagons type of weekend."

On the women' side, Siena placed 19^th overall with Clinton running in 22:31.1 to finish 115^th overall.

The Saints finished ahead of three rival Metro teams including Iona, Manhattan and Saint Peter's.

Six of the top seven Saints' finishers were freshmen or first-time cross country competitors.
