Final Stats

Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena men's soccer team dropped an overtime thriller 1-0 at the hands of Buffalo this evening in Western New York. Bulls forward Alex Marrello found the back of the net in the 101st minute to lead Buffalo (2-2) past the Saints.

The squads battled through the first 90 minutes of action to a scoreless tie leading into the first overtime session. Then just 11 seconds into overtime, a red card drawn by freshman forward Joe Tavernese gave the bulls an 11-10 advantage for the remainder of competition.

Siena's (0-2) defense stepped up and held Buffalo scoreless over the first 10 minutes of extra play. However, just 22 seconds into the second overtime period the Bulls worked the ball down the right side of the field where Dominic Oppong found an open Marrello who served one past Saints freshman goalkeeper Steve Skonieczny.

Skonieczny finished the contest with a game high five saves over 100:22 minutes of action in net.
