Final Stats

Clarence Jackson came off the bench to score 13 points, leading an ultra-balanced Siena attack in a 72-44 road win Sunday in Buffalo. Eight players scored more than six points and the Saints had 17 assists on just 26 field goals.

"I thought this may have been our best defensive performance of the season," head coach Fran McCaffery said. "It was certainly our best rebounding effort."

The Saints held a commanding 45-29 edge on the glass, easily their largest rebounding margin of the season. Siena grabbed 21 offensive rebounds.

They out-scored the Griffs 38-19 after the break.

Canisius led 17-9 with 11:12 to go in the first half, before Siena used a 16-2 run to take the lead for good.

Siena controlled the action in large part due to the play of point guard Ronald Moore. Moore finished with 10 points, nine assists, six rebounds and two steals. Edwin Ubiles had 10 points, five rebounds and three steals and has now reached double figures in all 16 games this season.

Alex Franklin had nine points and a team-high nine rebounds. Tay Fisher had eight points and Chris De la Rosa had seven points in just three minutes.

Siena had 14 steals and forced 23 turnovers. The Saints made 14-17 free throws and Canisius made just 6-9.

The Saints shot just 39% from the field, but used their pressure defense to limit the Griffs to just 39%.

Frank Turner had 12 points and five rebounds to pace Canisius' effort.

Siena will enjoy a few days off before hosting Manhattan Thursday night at Times Union Center.
