Jan. 24, 2008

Final Stats

Michael Tuck led five players in double figures with 23 points and hit four of Loyola's school-record 18 3-pointers as the Greyhounds cruised to an 85-56 win over Siena Thursday night in Baltimore.

Gerald Brown had 20 points. Brett Harvey made 5-7 3-pointers and finished with 16. Marquis Sullivan added 13 and Brian Rudolph chipped in 10.

Loyola shot 55% from the field and 56% from 3-point range, making 18-32 long range tries, including 11-18 in the second half.

Siena meanwhile shot a season-low 29% from the floor and made only 6-27 3-pointers.

Kenny Hasbrouck led the Saints with 19 points and had four of the team's 15 steals.

Loyola scored the game's first eight points and never trailed. Siena managed just two points in the first 10 minutes and 30 seconds of the game.

Brown hit a fade-away putback as the first half expired, pushing Loyola's lead to 36-23 at the break.

The Greyhounds dominated the second half, using a 15-5 spurt out of the lockerroom to put the game out of reach. The lead reached 32 with just over 10 minutes to go.

Siena used a mild rally to cut deficit to 19, 70-51, with 7:42 left, but got no closer.

The loss drops the Saints to 7-2 in MAAC play and 12-7 overall. Loyola evens its record at 10-10 and is 6-3 in the league.

The Saints next travel to Iona for a Sunday matinee with the Gaels at 2 p.m.
