Siena Loses Regular-Season Finale at Fairfield 3-0

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena men's soccer lost their regular-season finale at Fairfield 3-0 this afternoon. The loss snapped Siena's four-game wins streak and forces a re-match of the two teams on Friday in the MAAC Tournament. #2 Siena faces #3 Fairfield in the semifinals in Poughkeepsie.

David Bartholomew gave Fairfield (9-7, 6-3) a 1-0 lead in the 44th minute off a free kick. Tom Clemente took the kick, Erik Ilisije flicked it on to Bartholomew who volleyed it in at the near post.

The Stags scored on another free kick deep in Siena (9-7-1, 7-2) territory. Mike Lentine sent the ball to the far post where Tucker Nathans headed it past goalkeeper Steve Skonieczny.

Fairfield put the game away in the 77th minute when Jon Kaufman collected a blocked shot and scored from 20 yards out. Skonieczny made one save while Fairfield's Justine Burse recorded the shutout with three saves.

Siena faces Fairfield in the MAAC Tournament Friday in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
