LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Mark Adam (Clifton Park, N.Y.) was recently named assistant sports information director at Siena College. He previously served as an intern in the athletic communications department during the spring semester.
Adam earned his bachelor's degree in sport management from SUNY Cortland in May. At Cortland, he was a co-chair for the Sport Management Club and wrote for the student newspaper, The Dragon Chronicle.
Adam will be responsible for the promotion of Siena Athletics and its nearly 350 student-athletes. He will supervise home events overseeing the sports information, public relations and promotional initiatives for many of the department's 18 Division I sports. Additionally, Adam will serve as the media liaison for many programs, including: women's basketball, men's and women's soccer and men's and women's lacrosse.
Adam's undergraduate curriculum at SUNY Cortland required a semester-long internship during the second half of his senior year, which he served with the athletic communications office at Siena gaining valuable experience and insight into the operations of a Division I athletic department.
Among his responsibilities, Adam served as the secondary contact for men's basketball, traveling with the team to the NCAA Tournament in Tampa, Fla. where he assisted with a variety of tasks. He was also the primary game day contact for the Saints' softball program and worked several men's lacrosse and baseball games this spring.
Adam interned in the sports department at the Saratogian as a high school senior at Shenendehowa where he played soccer, helping the Plainsmen to the Section II finals as a senior in 2003. He was a Division III student-athlete at SUNY Cortland, playing a season on the soccer team in the fall of 2004.
