LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena men's soccer lost to UAlbany 3-0 Sunday afternoon in Albany. Shaun Kane scored a hat-trick for the Great Danes.
UAlbany (5-2) took a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute on Kane's first goal, assisted by Gaby Seguin-Gauthier and Ian Peach. Kane took the pass from 12 yards out and hit the shot far post past Siena goalkeeper Steve Skonieczny.
Kane scored his second goal of the game in the 38th minute on a rebound off a blocked shot.
Kane completed the hat-trick in the 54th minute on a breakaway after receiving a pass from Luuk Collou.
Siena (1-4-1) had its best chance to get on the scoreboard in the 87th minute of action. However, Matt Turcio's shot attempt hit the post.
The Great Danes outshot the Saints 35-13 in the game. Siena's Skonieczny made 11 saves and UAlbany's goalkeeper Steward Ceus earned the shutout with four saves.
Sebastien Anzevui led the Saints with two shots on goal.
The Saints return to action Saturday at Central Connecticut State at 3 p.m.
