Saint Francis (Pa.) captured first place times in all but one event as the Red Flash put an end to the Siena swimming and diving team's win streak at four meets this afternoon in Loretto, Pa. Bethany Fried represented the Saints' (6-5) lone event winner in the 183.5-78.5 defeat.
Melissa Heintz paced all swimmers winning a total of four events on the day for the Red Flash (3-6) which snapped a two meet losing skid.
Fried, who has come on strong of late for the Saints in distance events, finished with a time of 10:59.51 in capturing the 1000 free. Additionally, she placed second in the 500 free.
Teammate Brittany Pavolko also had a strong afternoon, recording four second place finishes. Pavolko was runner-up in the 200 medley relay, 100 back, 100 fly and 100 free.
Caitlyn Biagioli and Lauren Maxwell also recorded second place times for Siena in the 200 free and 200 IM respectively.
The Saints return to action next Saturday for their regular season finale against C.W. Post at 1 p.m. at Siena Swim Center. Prior to the meet, the team will honor graduating seniors Rachel McShane, Lauren Garrigan, Erin Keys, Jeanine McCann, Melissa Nocera and Lisa O'Connell in a special Senior Day ceremony.
