Final Stats
Freshman forward Matthew Kadoch came off the bench to score two goals, the second of which was the game winner, as Siena men's soccer defeated Saint Peter's 4-3 in double overtime Friday afternoon. Kadoch and classmate Emery Welshman both scored two goals.
The scoring came early and often as Welshman tallied his first goal of the game just 3:03 minutes into the game. But Udi Naim scored the equalizer 21 seconds later.
Welshman put the Saints (6-5-2, 1-1-1) up 2-1 on his second goal of the game in the 40th minute. The Peacocks' (3-8, 1-2) Michael Atehortua was ejected in the 42nd minute when he was assessed a red card.
Kadoch made it 3-1 off Sebastien Anzevui's corner kick in the 66th minute. But the Peacocks fought back and scored two goals in a six minute span. The first was a penalty kick by Dmitri Pelts. Naim tallied the game tying goal six minutes before the end of regulation.
Kadoch scored the golden goal in the 107th minute. Siena has six different players to score a game winning goal this season. Goalkeeper Phil Chabot (4-4-2) made five saves in the win.
Siena returns to action on Sunday when it plays at Manhattan. Game time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
