MGOLF Lehigh Final Results
The Siena men's golf team completed its fall season with an impressive sixth place finish at the Kelly Gutshall Invitational held at the Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa. Freshman David Gushee led all Siena competitors, placing tied for 11th overall.
Drexel (609) broke a first day tie with Villanova to capture the team title, finishing two strokes ahead of hard-charging Bucknell. The Saints (622) moved from seventh place to finish sixth on Sunday and were just one of two squads in the nine-team field to post a better team score in the final round than in the first.
The Dragons made it a clean sweep of the trophy case as Kyle Davis (72-76) shot +4 over the abbreviated 36-hole tournament to take home the individual title.
Gushee, who has come on strong in the first half of his freshman campaign, shot the third best score of the day with his 76 Sunday to finish at +9 for the weekend.
Three Saints ended up in the top-25 overall with Nick Miller (79-77) placing tied for 19th and Don DeNyse III (75-84) finishing tied for 25th overall.
The Saints return to action in the spring for the second half of their 2009-10 schedule.
