LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Former Siena basketball standout Laura Menty has been hired as marketing and ticket manager in the Siena athletic department. Menty will be responsible for marketing and promoting Siena Athletics to both internal and external constituents with an emphasis on basketball.
"We are excited to welcome Laura back to Siena College," Director of Athletics John D'Argenio said. "With her background in marketing and her accomplishments as a Division I student-athlete at Siena, we feel she is prepared to market the athletic department and draw people to games and events."
Before being hired at Siena, Menty served as a management trainee at Enterprise Rent-a-Car in East Greenbush for a year. She generated corporate and car sale leads, marketed to companies and customers, and sold coverage and car options.
Menty interned at Questar III Human Resource Department in Castleton, New York during the spring of 2008. In the summer of 2007, she served as an event planner at Christine A. Wheat Special Events Firm, LLC in Albany.
Menty earned her bachelor's degree in marketing and management from Siena College in 2008. She was a four-year starter for the Saints and led the team in scoring each season. She ranks fourth on the program's all-time scoring list with 1,779 points.
As a freshman, she won Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year after averaging 13.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. As a sophomore, she was named All-MAAC Second Team and as a junior and senior she was an All-MAAC First Team selection. She led the league in 2007-08 with 19.1 points per game.
