Final Stats

Northern Iowa shot 62% from the field in the second half and closed the game on a 26-12 run turning a competitive game between two of the nation's premier Mid Majors into a comfortable 13-point victory over Siena Saturday night in Cedar Falls.

All five Panthers' starters finished in double figures led by Ali Farokhmanesh's 15 points. UNI shot 56% (9-15) from 3-point range and scored 49 points in the second half.

Edwin Ubiles led all players with 19 points for Siena which took its final lead of the game, 40-39, on an O.D. Anosike free throw with 16:42 left. The Saints trailed by just three, 56-53, with 8:49 to go.

Siena was victimized by abysmal free throw shooting, converting just 9-23 from the stripe for the game.

Kwadzo Ahelegbe and Jordan Eglseder each had 14 points for UNI (7-1) which won for the sixth straight time after suffering their only loss to DePaul. Johnny Moran and Adam Koch each finished with 12 points.

Ronald Moore scored 16 points and dished out five assists. Moore played the first 37 minutes of the game. Alex Franklin had 15 points and played the first 39 minutes. Ryan Rossiter grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds in just 24 minutes playing through foul trouble.

UNI led 33-30 after a competitive first half with two ties and seven lead changes. The Panthers, known for their methodical offense, were electric on this night, dishing out 19 assists on their 29 field goals.

Siena had just 10 assist and shot 44% (13-29) in both halves.

The Saints have 12 days off before returning to MAAC action against Rider on December 23 at Times Union Center.
