Siena Falls at Niagara, 100-85

Bilal Benn had 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead six Purple Eagles in double figures and Niagara toppled MAAC-leader Siena 100-85 at a soldout Taps Gallagher Center Friday night. Ronald Moore scored a career-high 23 points and added nine assists in a losing effort for the Saints.

It's the most points allowed by the Saints (22-7, 15-2) since January 3, 2008 at Memphis.

Kenny Hasbrouck had three steals, surpassing Marcus Faison on the school's all-time theft charts, but he made just 2-20 field goals in the game. Hasbrouck now has 232 career steals.

Niagara (23-7, 13-4) shot 55% from the field in the first half and led 48-31 at the break. Rob Garrison had 13 of his 19 points before intermission for the Purple Eagles and made 3-4 3-pointers.

Siena showed fight in the second half, closing to seven with 5:06 remaining. Moore missed two free throws with a chance to cut the lead to five and Niagara answered with a 12-2 run to secure the victory.

The Saints went to work inside in the second half after getting Niagara into early foul trouble. Ryan Rossiter and Alex Franklin both finished with double doubles for the second time this season. Rossiter had 17 points and 11 rebounds and Franklin had 15 points and 10 boards. Edwin Ubiles added 19 points for the Saints.

In addition to Benn and Garrison, Benson Egemonye (13), Tyrone Lewis (12), Anthony Nelson (11) and Kashief Edwards (11) finished in double figures for Niagara which has won nine of its last 10.

Siena suffered just its second loss since January 6. The Saints close out regular-season play at Canisius Sunday at 2 p.m.
